A MAVRIK in the Ring and Beyond
Gil Reyes found his passion for boxing at just 11 years old. He quickly rose through the ranks, winning 19 amateur titles and fighting in over 100 amateur bouts. After High School Reyes turned professional, earning a reputation as a fierce competitor. With a professional record of 19-5, including 11 knockouts, his boxing career seemed to be going places, after claiming the WBA title.
It seemed as though Reyes was on track to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming a World Champion, but unfortunately fate had a different plan. In a match against Carlos de la Cruz, Reyes suffered a devastating injury— breaking his jaw in four places, requiring 19 screws to repair, bringing his dreams to a sudden end.

This unforeseen event could have crushed his spirit, but Gil Reyes is no ordinary fighter. He embodies the Mavrik spirit, turning his adversity into an opportunity to carve out a new path. Rather than dwell on what could have been, Gil redirected his passion and knowledge into coaching and founding his business G-Force Striking.
Gil's story is one of resilience, reinvention, and relentless dedication—qualities that make him a true Mavrik. He's not just a coach; he's a mentor who has transformed his love for boxing into a legacy that will inspire fighters for years to come.
